Quest:
How are files erased from the VN-6000?
Answer:
To erase a selected file:
Press the [FOLDER/INDEX] button to select the folder containing the file.
Press the [] or [] button to select the file.
Press the [ERASE] button.
Press the [] or [] button to select YES.
Press [PLAY] button.selected file will be erased.
Erased files cannot be retrieved. END Guide info

The only thing 100percent accurate is the last line… ERASED FILES CANNOT BE RETRIEVED!!!

Was backing up EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FILE on new VN 600. MAY have hit erase instead of “display menu”(too easy to do). When “Erase” option presented i hit”Stop”.Yet.The FILE IS GONE!Stop means stop on any device. It should never be a second level,means to ‘confirm erase’. Especially when indicated NOWHERE.

1)Product can’t TRANSFER FILES TO other devices without many creative steps. did not know when bought it. I play files from VN 600 as my camera is set to Video.This way camera records audio via the video setting.I then uploadfile from my camera to laptop.
2)Lack of upload feature is bad enough. But that the files can be deleted due to arbitrary interfacing is awful BUT it gets worse:
3)deleted files have no interim place before user decides to erase them for good, like recycle bin, trash can, deleted folder etc. NOT THIS PRODUCT.
So, Backing up is based on users creativity, Erasing is a crap shoot, AND its- FINAL. culmination of WEEKS OF WORK is gone.NO Olympus product should generate such uncertain results.
Integrate the BASIC expectations of todays user into this product. At present,it’s a disgrace it bears the Olympus name.
