Choosing a Digital Voice Recorder
For general notetaking and idea capturing, the current WS series of Olympus voice recorders are wonderful. I currently own the WS-311M for capturing songwriting ideas . It is small enough to fit in my back pocket and can hold up to 17 hours of WMA audio. (Which I usually convert to MP3 when I import into iTunes). Any of the WS-series are great: the WS-300, 311, 321, and so forth. They also plug into a PC or Mac via USB very simply.
